Why MCHost Sucks
While looking into which hosts have bad reputations so I can keep my readers up to date one name keeps coming up again and again and again, MCHost. Complaints range from sudden server changes which leave sites broken, double, triple even quintuple billing which goes on and on coupled with refusals to reimburse customers.
A few minutes searching Google left me with numerous complaints about MCHost, the top complaint was double billing. This seems to be a common practice, second was refusing to close accounts, or rather closing the accounts but continuing the billing. The only thing that seemed to work for a number of people was to actually cancel their credit cards. Third on the list was downtime, servers were down very, with no support, often leading to angry complaints on MCHost’s forums, which were deleted often before the servers were back up. Lastly, and most obviously I guess, was support. Many reports show tickets taking not hours to get replies, but weeks!
Although I have not personally had any experience with MCHost, based on reports of those unfortunate enough to have done business with them I can confidently warn my readers to stay away from them.
