Why GoDaddy Sucks
Have you been lured to GoDaddy by their cheap domain name registration? So have I, but my excitement quickly faded while wading through the pages and pages of extra features they try and trick you into signing up for. There are many, many complaints about GoDaddy which can be found all over the net like this one and this one and this one for starters.
While going through the registration process you are presented with a screen that offers numerous add-on features for your account. For an extra whatever per month you can have x feature or y feature, then at the bottom of the page is a huge button that says ‘continue with extra features’, almost invisibly small below that is a button that says ‘continue without extra features’. If you happen to find the tiny button, you are greeted with another page of the same, and another and another.
Now, I understand there are extra features, some of which some people may want. But users should be free to choose what features they want and not be tricked into buying extra features by simply clicking on the button that seems to say next. This is sneaky and underhanded and it shows a great lack of respect for their customers. How comfortable would you feel doing business with a company you feel duped you?
